A while ago I read the book “Cleaning plain & simple”, by Donna Smallin, and found it to be very useful. It gives direct and easy to use cleaning tips and everyone can benefit from it.

As most of  professional organizers recommend, “Organization must be incorporated into your daily life, one space at a time. It is not a one-shot deal”. This book gives you steps that you can take for 15 minutes a day – and that’s it!

I highly recommend it (and I secretly hoped I’ve written it…)

Every electronic device that I own has its own case. I have cases for my cameras, laptop, iPhone, Kindle, iPod.

I love  and recommend cases not only for the protection from scratches and dust but I also think they add some fun to our

sometimes dull stuff.

Take a look at these cases and I’m sure you’ll be inspired too! Define your budget and get your self one, I’m sure you’ll be happy to see how much longer your electronic will last. Also, cases come in hand as great and useful gifts for friends!

I’ve said many times before how much I love furniture with storage compartments. But, unfortunately, they are not always pretty.

Luckily we have fashion designers getting into the business and creating beautiful and useful pieces like this one.

The Chef’s knife is the primary general-utility knife for most cooks and it is worth to make the investment in a high quality knife that you’ll have for the rest of you life.

The mostly recommended Chef’s knives have forged blades and are made of a high-carbon stainless steel alloy. Here are some great options:

Wusthof Classis 8-inch Wide Cook’s Knife

Mercer Cutlery Genesis 10-Inch Chef’s Knife

And remember always to take good care of your knife:

–          Keep it sharp;

–          Do not put it in the dishwashers;

–          Wash it with soap and water and dry immediately;

–          Store it safely in plastic or wooden sheaths;

–          For stains, use lemon wedge and salt.

Besides an 8-inch Chef’s knife, all you need id a slicing knife, a 3 ½ inch paring knife and a 10-inch serrate knife for bread. With that, you are good to go!

I’ve always dreamed of an Anthropologie wedding line and I couldn’t belive when I read the news! Anthropologie’s website for its wedding line BHLDN (pronounced “Beholden”) has finally been unveiled.

“Creative Minds Behind Anthropologie Offer a Wedding Brand That Goes Beyond “The Dress”

For the day that celebrates a woman’s personal taste and style, BHLDN provides a confident and guiding voice to help create an extraordinary experience for brides to share with their family and friends. BHLDN’s first collection is scheduled for February 14, 2011 through its online boutique, www.bhldn.com. It will bring together a curated collection of heirloom quality wedding gowns, bridesmaid frocks, party dresses, assorted jewelry, headpieces, footwear, and lingerie.

Inspired by the very brides BHLDN will serve; the Anthropologie creative team began dreaming up a wedding brand after hearing tales of its customers’ nuptials. “We know our customer, and we know she’s looking for a brand that reflects her unique perspective. She may have interests common to her friends, but she’s looking to create a moment that’s all her own…it’s not so much about our point of view as it is about capturing hers,” explains Managing Director, Kristin Norris.”

That’s it, Anthropologie’s crazy fans (like myself), it’s only 5 more days to go before the big opening day! Aren’t you glad you are a bride in 2011?
