I am totally against bringing home plastic bags from Grocery Shopping. Really, how many plastic bags do we need? Some people still use it for garbage (or other purposes), but we can try harder to keep at home only a limited amount, 15 in probably plenty.
So, whenever I go shopping for one item or 2, I never bother bringing a bag, just stash it in my purse. And whenever I go shopping for monthly supplies or heavier items, my canvas tote bag is always with me.
Anyway, aside of my campaign to avoid using plastic bags, I have a good storage tip for the few we keep at home.
First, find an appropriate container to store it. Whenever it’s full get rid of the rest. I use a fabric sac with an opening on the top and another on the bottom. Way in and out. It’s very crafty and looks cute by the fridge. Before storing the bags here is a tip on how to fold it and reduce volume.
